Fuchsia is always my favorite flower due to its simple shape, yet rich color. Inspired by my travel photos from different botanic gardens, I painted directly onto hand-dyed batik fabric and decorated it with various textures and colorful threads. The addition of a little hummingbird brought great fun and balance to the overall project. For the background, I used free-motion quilting designs of ginkgo and cherry blossom to express my admiration of nature.
